On Friday, October 5th we took a trip to the Elroy Fire department and Ambulance Station.  The kids and adults had a great time.  We learned a lot and enjoyed exploring the vehicles and equipment.

While the older kids were off dissecting rats the younger kids stayed at the church and tasted fruits from around the world.  They learned some they loved and some the did not!  They also planned a trip for a new friend.  "Sunflower Jack"  will be taking a trip (through the mail) around the states for the next year.  He will return at the end of school and tell us about his journey.  Watch your mail, he may be coming your way!  They also did a craft.  They took a roll of toilet paper and wrapped it with material so they could make it into a pumpkin.

Our group took a trip to the school on Monday, October 1st, 2007.  The older kids got the chance to dissect rats.  They learned so much and enjoyed the learning experience.  Thank you to Mrs. Kraus for giving us the opportunity!

On September 10th we had our first group classes for the school year. We started out with a music class taught by Mr. Don Rosine.  We then had a computer class on how to use Microsoft Word.  The kids were taught how to make stationary, hot keys, add a picture etc.  Another class we did was teach the kids on the transformation of a caterpillar into a Monarch butterfly.  We discussed the migration of the butterfly in the winter.  We then made paper butterflies and are sending them to Mexico where the real butterflies go.  We will receive other butterflies in return when the butterflies return to the north.  We are excited to see where ours end up and who's we may get in return.

September 17th was our first Gym night.  Brad Ingraham will be heading this up this year.  We started out by running a timed mile.  They warmed up first with a light jog and then some stretches.  The ready set go.....
